Halloween

It’s Halloween again, but I’m not as excited about it this year. Maybe it’s cause I stabbed my foot putting up decorations. Or maybe it’s cause I’m not trick or treating this year. Idk. The house looks cool though. Cost me a hole in my foot but it was worth it. Wow I haven’t blogged in forever. Could be a problem. Maybe not so much? Beats me. Maybe I should start blogging more again. Maybe I shouldn’t. Maybe this movie I’m watching is sketchy. It’s called Carrie. Probably one of the most sketchy movies I have ever seen. I’m off to enjoy the rest of my Halloween. Inside. Watching a movie.

Paranormal Activity

Paranormal-Activity

So after all the stuff that happened last night, I needed something to take my mind off everything. I decided to go with my mom and Stephan to see Paranormal Activity. After waiting in the incredibly long line to get tickets because only 1 person was working at the ticket booth and every kid had to go see Where the Wild Things Are, we got inside and got some popcorn. The previews were boring and then the movie started out of no where. It’s one of those movies that jumps right into the story. It started out just a bit creepy but it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Everything builds up so perfectly to the ending. I won’t give too much away but the ending is when the scary-ness really kicks in. I almost wanted to leave the theater. My mom is never scared of movies but she jumped out of her seat and screamed the f-bomb at one point in the movie. Stephan was freaking out hiding behind his knees.

After the movie, some guy got out of his seat and ran out of the theater while yelling “Waste of my money!” The guy behind me was like “He probably shit his pants.” I laughed. I waited for something to happen before leaving, partially because I was too scared to move, and then left when the blue screen popped up saying that the movie was rated R. An hour later after regaining my sanity, I realized how good of a movie it was. For such a low budget movie it was really well produced. I give it a 10/10 rating. Not like any of the other scary movies out there.

spsu

So today I went to visit SPSU. It was raining and looked really grim. Wasn’t a good day to take a tour but it was a half day so it made more sense. My first thought was that it looked more like a prison than a school. Then we went to the administration office to sign in for the tour. The office smelled like an old person’s apartment. That repulsed me a bit. The beginning of the tour was boring. The guy just talked about the school and what it offered and junk. Then we went around the student center. It wasn’t as nice as the one at Alabama but I couldn’t expect much from such a small school. After we saw all the academic buildings we went to the dorms to see one. It was tiny. Very, very tiny. I guess I was just used to seeing Jen’s amazingly large dorm. Then there was the community bathrooms. This doesn’t fly with me. I like my privacy in the bathroom. I don’t like the fact that I would have to share.

So after the tour Stephan was all bummed cause he couldn’t make it in without the college prep diploma. He has to get career tech cause he doesn’t have time to take at least 2 years of a foreign language. I’m graduating with the dual diploma in engineering so I’ll be able to get in easily. Stephan decided to call the recruiter to see what his options were. The recruiter told him that Georgia Highlands College shares the same campus so he would still be able to room with me if he went there instead. GHC is a 2 year college that accepts applicants with the career tech diploma so he would be able to get in. So looks like that’s where we’re going to end up going at the moment but who knows, things could change.

The girl that stared at me. The cute girl on the bus. The girl that was taller than me. The girl that got in trouble. The girl i sat with in the front of the bus. The girl that liked my emo music. That annoying girl. The girl that liked me. The girl that fake cried. The girl that was good at making me feel bad. The girl that wrote that she thought I was a sexy beast in my yearbook. The girl that told me to never forget her. The girl I would never forget…

The 8th grader. The girl I talked to online. The girl that still liked me. The girl that introduced me to Gaby and Lindsay. The girl that didn’t want me to go out with Lindsay. The girl that changed my mind. The girl I thought I could never like. The girl that proved me wrong. The girl that I couldn’t wait to see after the summer. The girl I got too comfortable with. The mistake that I would always regret…

The girl whose parents found out. The girl whose parents misjudged. The girl at lunch. The girl that couldn’t be anything more. The girl that decided it wouldn’t work. The girl that moved on. The girl that thought I was immature. The girl I tried to move on from. The girl that kept getting in the way. The girl I could never stay mad at. The girl with the poor choice in guys. The girl I told everything to. The girl that I thought I loved. The girl with the yearbook. The girl that said no…

The girl that changed her mind. The girl that I talked to every day. The girl I couldn’t stop thinking about. The girl that said she loved me. The girl that I said I loved. The girl whose parents still thought of me as someone I wasn’t. The girl I wanted to make things work with. The girl that called me Wall-e. The girl I called Eve. The girl that went to band camp. The girl that begged me to forgive her. The girl that I forgave. The girl I waited for. The girl that lost interest. The girl that became my best friend…

The girl that changed my life.

Finally! WiFi!

So the school added a nice new feature this year… WiFi!!! It took them a good 7-8 weeks to get it set up but I finally noticed the signal last Friday. I found FCSFaculty and FCSGuest. I figured that only teachers could get on the faculty one so I tried my school login on the guest network. Failed. This morning Andrew told me that I needed to log in with my school account on the faculty network and it would work. Sure enough I tried it and I was able to get on everything. No websites are blocked or anything. It’s a pretty nice discovery. Now I actually have something to do during school!

Tweetie 2 Released

Tweetie-2

Tweetie 2 was released yesterday afternoon. This update (sort of) has been anticipated for quite a while now. I had been looking forward to it because I loved the original Tweetie application so much. So when I heard the news I decided to give it a try. There were a few things that caught my eye but a few things that I didn’t like.

The biggest downside of this update is the fact that it’s not actually an update. This is a whole new application that has to be re-purchased even if you had already purchased the original Tweetie app. This seemed a bit ridiculous to me. It would be okay as long as there was a substantial amount of things added/changed in the new version, but there really wasn’t that much different about it. There are a few interface changes and some new features but not enough to make it a whole new app.

The second thing that I didn’t like was the fact that they Atebits decided to take away the multiple themes. They now limit you to the old default theme. I was personally a fan of the chat bubbles theme in the old Tweetie and was very disappointed to see that missing in the new version. Aside from those things, Tweetie 2 has some great new features and still gets a 5/5 star rating from me. Leave a comment and let me know what you think about it.

Obama Wins the Nobel Prize?

But, but, but…. What did he do? Nothing. That’s exactly what he did. President Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize for having good intentions on creating peace with other countries. Really? That doesn’t seem right. I mean even I have good intentions on making peace. Almost everyone has good intentions for something. Should we all get the peace prize too? The Nobel Peace Prize needs to be given to someone that has actually done something to benefit the world in my opinion. Who knows. Maybe Obama winning it is a good thing. It could make other countries that hate America see us as a more trustworthy/peaceful country. Comment and let me know what you’re thinking about this.

Bloggin’ on the Go

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

Look at this! I’m making this blog post from my iPod! I can also post stuff from my phone now too!!! Isn’t this just way exciting? Probably not to you but it sure makes things a whole lot easier for me. I finally got the wordpress for blackberry application working on my storm. It inspired me to get the iPod app as well so now I’m an on-the-go blogger. Congrats to me? I think so.
