So today Stephan and I decided to go see District 9. We were going to see it Friday night but I figured that it would just be too crowded. I still wanted to see what people thought about it so I checked Twitter and sure enough it was a trending topic. Everyone was raving about it saying that it was amazing and it was a must see. I regretted not fighting the mob to get a seat after reading it all. But all worked out in the end when I saw the 2:50 showing at Regal on Medlock. We were there 30 minutes early and were forced to watch the Regal First Look. That pretty much consisted of 25 minutes of ads along with a funny Jay Leno commercial and the 2012 trailer (which looked pretty amazing). Then the previews started and I saw a few pretty nice looking movies that I wanted to see.
Onto the review of District 9… I’ll start out by saying that the movie was an amazing 10/10. Aside from the motion sickness brought on by the constantly moving camera, I very much enjoyed the movie. Peter Jackson was definitely the right person to direct the movie. The beginning of the movie had me a little bored and waiting for the action but it really helped pull the story together. I can’t say much without giving the whole movie away so to sum it up, this movie is amazing. It’s just one of those movies that you have to see.

So today Stephan was opening for this benefit concert and I decided to go with. We got there around 4 and helped set up for 2 hours then Stephan played his song. After that, Enrico played a few songs with some girl. Then some chick sang and played guitar. She’s the girl in the top picture. She sounded so much like Norah Jones that it was scary. The next band (bottom pic) was pretty awesome. I forgot the name but the singer sounded like Dave Matthews. I didn’t pay much attention to the band after that. Enrico, Stephan, and I bailed around 8:30 and went to Rita’s then played Halo. Was a slightly entertaining day I suppose.

Today was just a really weird day. It all started with yesterday when I finally got the nerve to ask someone to go to a concert with me. She said maybe cause she had to ask her mom first. Went better than I expected at first. Then today rolled around and the morning seemed just like any other but then at lunch I just got really depressed. Probably because I was so worried about if she would be able to go or not. The day dragged on until school ended. I saw her after school asked her if she knew if she could go yet or not. She said she hadn’t asked. That was a bit of a problem since the concert was only two hours from then. I told her to text me when she asked. After like an hour she said she couldn’t go because she was going to another one the next day and her mom wouldn’t let her go to both. Kinda sad about that. So Stephan came over after school and we just could not think of anything to do. My mom left us pizza money and left to party it up with the neighbors at El Potrillo. Stephan and I ended up racing Hot Wheels down the driveway while waiting for the pizza to come. It was actually pretty entertaining. That was pretty much my whole day. Hoping tomorrow will be better…

So I was looking for a good song to learn on guitar and my friend Camille suggested Jasey Rae by All Time Low. I’ve never really liked the band to be honest but I searched it in iTunes anyways and surprisingly fell in love with the acoustic version. Listen to it here.

Well today was the fourth day at school. All together it pretty much sucked. The day all started with web design class. I “learned” how to “code” the <html>, <head>, <body>, and <h1> tags. Everyone in the class used WordPad to create a “webpage” using these tags. I finished mine in a good 6 seconds and everyone else struggled to make words show up. I felt too advanced for the class. After web design I went to US History and created an imaginary establishment in the new-found America. It was called Jerboaland and profit was made by breeding Jerboas. In lit, my mute partner and I shared our project on euphemism with the class. I did all the talking. Physics was boring. Everyone got up on the first bell just to be disappointed that we don’t get out ’til the third bell. Lunch sucked. No explanation needed on that one. Math was the WORST. I’m starting to hate Mr. Oguz more and more each day. First of all, he can’t talk. How can you teach when you can’t even speak. Second, he won’t let us use a calculator on anything all year. Don’t I have some sort of right to use one? I plan on using one regardless of what he says. Then engineering rolled around. The one good part of my day. Then I went home. I’m ready for summer…
